We’re very excited to welcome Jodi Kahn as our next guest author at Handmade Crafternoon at the New York Public Library. Jodi is the author of several craft books and is going to demonstrate some techniques from her newest book, Simply Sublime Gifts.
We’re going to learn how to stitch up some sweet little fabric gifts using fabric printed with winter scenes selected from the Library’s own collection of vintage greetings and cards, like this adorable image below. My wonderful co-host Jessica Pigza found that in the library’s incredible digital collection.
We’ll have some supplies available, but feel free to bring your own sewing kit and fabric. As always, Jessica will select a great spread of unique books and vintage magazines from the Library’s collections to inspire as well.
As always, Handmade Crafternoon is FREE and takes place from 2-4pm in the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on 42nd Street and Fifth Avenue in the Margaret Liebman Berger Forum (Map and directions) Second Floor, Room 227.
The New York Public Library is one of our finest institutions and a tremendous source of inspiration for all New Yorkers. If you want to support the library, you can make a donation. As Thanksgiving nears, I am reminded how truly grateful I am to craft with you in that incredible place, and I want to help bolster it in any way I can.
Hope to see you on Saturday, November 20th!
