CRAFTERNOON: A Guide to Getting All Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long

Greetings, Crafternooners!

Welcome to Crafternoon.com. I hope this site will become your resource for simple, low-budget ideas for group and solo crafting experiences. I will be posting my crafty concepts, linking you to other great craft sites, and just generally trying to keep you all laughing and crafting.

The month of October is going to be the Crafternoon-iest ever! As most of you know, Crafternoon: A Guide to Getting Artsy and Crafty with Your Friends All Year Long by yours truly hit bookstores and other places today!

I am delighted with how it turned out, and I’d like to extend my thanks to everyone who ever attended a Crafternoon or spread the crafty word about them. You truly rock!

I hope the book will inspire more and more people to get crafty and creative with their friends and family. In these difficult times, it’s so important to refocus our energy on the good things in life — making things, sharing things, and gathering with the people we love. Those things don’t cost money, but they pay us back in major ways. I’m not trying to be all hokey, people, but love and creativity are free!

I’ll be celebrating the book release with a fun New York event next week. I will be doing a reading and “crafterhours” crafting session on Thursday, October 16th at 7:30 pm at Word, a fantastic bookstore in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

I will read some fun stuff from the book. We will craft some celebration skulls and ghoulish greeting cards, and there will be bonus handmade goodies for those folks who purchase a copy of the book. The reading will be followed by drinks at a nearby bar. It will be awesome all around.

And if you don’t get your fill of crafting (or of me) on the 16th, there will be more crafty events all around this Crafternation in the next few months. Keep checking in right here for more dates in more places.

So mark your calendars, gentle crafters! I cannot wait to craft with you.

In Craft I Trust,
Maura
